A Jumble Of Distinctive Feature Film Story Lines

In the past you had to go to a store if you wanted to rent or buy a movie. As technologies have advanced, downloading dvds from movie download sites is becoming very common. Let's look at what you might find to watch using a movie download site.

Boyz N The Hood: Follows the trials and tribulations of three friends John, Doughboy, and Ricky as they try to survive on the tough inner city streets of south central Los Angeles. Every day can be one of danger on these tough streets. Can these three survive the drugs and violence, and make there way out of these dangerous streets?

Speed: A devious terrorist has set a terrifying situation in motion. He has set a bomb on an L.A. city bus. The catch is that if the bus goes less than 50 mph, the bomb will go off. Can officer Jack Traven somehow save the passengers from their desperate situation?

Die Hard: In position to commit the perfect crime, terrorists have commandeered a Los Angeles high rise, and are holding everyone hostage. There is $460 million in the corporate safe that the terrorists want. Everything is going according to play. Uninvited, so the terrorists don't know he is there New York cop John McClane is the lone hope to stop the terrorists.

Stand Alone: Vigilante opus has miscast Durning as a battle vet who goes after Latino thugs who are preying on his community. Grier is trashed in a goody-2-shoes role. Spectacle of obese Durning running around in action scenes is accidentally ludicrous. Cast includes Charles Durning, Pam Grier, James Keach, Bert Remsen, Barbara Sammeth, Lu Leonard, and Luis Contreras. (90 minutes, 1985)

Iron Will: Cast includes Mackenzie Astin, Kevin Spacey, August Schellenberg, David Ogden Stiers, Brian Cox, George Gerdes, and John Terry. Kid enters a Winnipeg-to-St. Paul mutt-sled race in the WW1 epoch; outcome is so "by the numbers" that you nearly anticipate the numerals to start flashing on the monitor, John Waters' Polyester 2 extra authors finished the primordial script by war horse John Michael Hayes Back WINDOW, presumably to make it more like a poor Disney Channel entry. There's a faint pulse anytime Spacey as a reporter shows up on the monitor. (109 minutes, 1994)

Down and Out in Beverly Hills: Bum moves in with obsessive, nouveau-riche family and takes over their lives. Smooth, often ludicrous, however unusually evident satire for Mazursky who additionally appears as one of Dreyfuss' fat-feline buddies. There are some good, excellent behaviors, albeit Mike the Mutt effortlessly robs the film. Cast includes Notch Nolte, Richard Dreyfuss, Bette Midler, Little Richard, Tracy Nelson, and Alexis Arquette. (103 minutes, 1986)

Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band: Try to link melodies from The Beatles' classic album into some kind of tale line just doesn't work; patterns range from reasonable to humiliating. As to The Bee Gees' performing ability, if you couldn't affirm something fine. Cast includes Peter Frampton, The Bee Gees, George Bums, Sandy Farina, and Steve Martin. (111 minutes, 1978)

8MM: Small time surveillance expert Tom Wells is hired to find out if a snuff film is authentic or not. This sends him into the seedy world of pornography. After getting this deep, he has to take it one step further, and go into the darkest corner of the porn world.

Dust Devil: In Africa's Namibia Desert, malevolent soul Burke, snared in human being form, should slaughter to enter a metaphysical empire; he meets Territory, escaping an miserable matrimony, and is chased by cop Mokae. Fascinating premise, excellent performing nearly counteract sluggish pace, conceited approach. Cast includes Robert Burke, Zakes Mokae, John Matshiliza, Rufus Swart, William Hootkins, and Marianne Sagebrecht. (87 minutes, 1993)
