No need to make your baby's bed like your own: the main components are fitted sheets and light receiving blankets. If you buy a comforter, no matter how cute it is or how well it goes with the decor, it will not be needed until your child reaches the age of two. If your baby is old enough to start climbing around, a crib bumper will provide him or her with a boost that he or she needs to escape the crib. When looking for baby boy bedding or baby girl bedding, you may be tempted by those cute looking bumpers, but think again. Bumpers are not a good idea even for cheap baby boy bedding.
Take stuffed animals, pillows and other dangerous items out of the crib before placing the baby in the crib. As long as you are watching, your child can play with toys in the crib, but take them out as soon as he becomes sleepy, and make sure they're out of reach.
