Use A Memory Foam Mattress Pad To Get A Good Night's Sleep

By Ana Vralli

The #1 contributor to body ache and overall grumpiness is not getting a good night's rest. We have all heard from people who brag that they only need 3 or 4 hours of sleep and they are good to go. Heck, there are even people who stay awake for days at a time to work, party, or stare aimlessly at the television. We've all done it, pulled all nighters to finish a homework or work assignment, and I don't know about you, but I felt terrible the next day. What happens even more often is that my bed was too uncomfortable to get a full night's rest. So, I decided to treat myself and look for a new mattress. That was my first introduction to the memory foam mattress pad.

The truth of the matter about sleeping is this; you need at least 7 hours of solid sleep a night on average for optimal health. If you think you only need 3, 4, or 5 hours of sleep a night, all you are really doing is just getting by. Your body is not getting enough time to recuperate and heal itself after a long day of activity.

If you think that your body does not need 7 hours of sleep to heal, here's a quick biology lesson. It does not matter what you are doing during the day, your body is on and working. Your heart is pumping strongly, you are burning calories, and your muscles are working. In order to rest your organs, you really need to sleep. The majority of your internal organs don't run as vigorously and have the opportunity to repair themselves after a long day of work.

Now lets look at your muscles. Lets say you walk to the bus stop, ride your bike to work, or go for an early morning run, you are breaking down your muscles. This may sound a little weird if you don't know much about the human body, but when you use your muscles, you are creating little tears in your muscle tissue. The only way to repair these tissues is to rest and a good mattress that allows you to get a full night's rest. And the best way to get a full night's sleep without tossing and turning is to get a comfortable mattress - like a memory foam mattress pad.

The thing that most people overlook is the big role your mattress plays on the quality of sleep you get every night. Your body needs to be comfortable and supportive enough for you to sleep for 7 hours without tossing and turning. You won't wake up feeling stiff and groggy in the morning once you get a better mattress pad to sleep on. We spend almost 1/3 of our lives sleeping, so it's a good idea to get the best mattress to get a better night's sleep.

This is how important having the right mattress is to your health. If the mattress is too hard, there will not be enough blood flow to your muscles and your heart. You will wake up feeling stiff, sore, and not well rested at all.

However, if your mattress is too soft, you will end up sinking too deep into the bed, and your body will be all contorted. When you are falling asleep, having a slight bend in your back is not a big deal, but you will wake up to major pain in the morning due to it.

This is why the doctors are recommending the memory foam mattress pad, because it is a clever little devil. This mattress actually molds to the shape of your body. It is not too soft, and it is not too hard, it is just right to allow the perfect amount of blood flow and the right amount of shape so that you so not wake up with stiff limbs.
