Dealing With Fungal Toenail Infections In One Short Half Hour Visit

By Connor Sullivan

There is one embarrassing condition that has many people staying away from public funtions and that is nail infections. Where do people go to cure this terrible problem, but the Long Island laser fungal toenail center in New York. With fungus toenail laser treatment, the sufferer will find that the condition can be sorted out quite quickly.

This problem occurs when spores work their way into the surface and are embedded under the nails. This can happen to all extremities including the hands but is far more common on the feet. The reason is that most people will not take into consideration that their feet are 'clothed' all day, like socks and shoes, and this creates the perfect environment for the infection to grow unabated.Even in hot and humid countries this disease is very common but it is more usual for them to sport open shoes, or no shoes at all which means that there is a free airflow around the foot. This infection does not like fresh, dry air and needs closed in, humid areas for the condition to thrive. Most athletes will suffer from some kind of foot infection, athlete's foot being probably the one that everyone has heard of. This is in the same ballpark as the nail problem but affects the skin itself. Itchy, flaky skin is a common symptom of this and the infection is very difficult to get rid of.

Messy creams and lotion are the normal antidotes for this infection but takes several weeks or months and very often, the disease is so tenacious that the sufferer merely knocks it back a little. It reappears again and again and the sufferer is really suffering all the while and does not know what to do about it.

The horrible sight of this disease is green or yellowish with horny kind of growth. Flaking and itching can also be a symptom and the whole thing looks so unsightly and ugly that people will try to cover their feet full time. Even using the gym can be a kind of torture and makes matters worse by keeping the nails covered thereby making those warm and humid conditions that the disease loves. This is how to prolong the disease.

With the treatment mentioned in the first paragraph, a light is shone directly through the nail to pinpoint the 'root' of the spores to deprive it of moisture in situ. The session lasts for about thirty minutes and this will also be done to all the other toes. Unfortunately, spores are invisible to the naked eye and this is done as a safety measure.

Even shoes should be treated with anti fungicide powders to ensure that no spores are lurking there and will stop the problem once and for all. Conditions for the feet should also be changed and it may be a good idea to walk barefoot around the home to let the feet 'breathe'. Care should also be taken where many other people are present like gymnasiums and spas and the like. Once the disease is eradicated, it truly will be a case of 'putting your best foot forward!
