The Secret to Finland University

By Patricia West

Did you know that the universities in Finland, Sweden and Norway are tuition free? Tuition free schools are a growing area of education. When people think about tuition free schools, they think about public schools. This isn't always the case.

The word free universities can have several meanings and this article will touch upon some of those meanings, including free as in freedom and free as in cost.

One category of tuition free schools is private schools that offer scholarships. Many private schools appreciate the need to have a diverse student body. The fact is, in today's global society, they see the value of having people from all different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds as part of the student body.

In the last 10 years, thanks to the internet, education has become more free and more available. This has caused many opportunities to study for free.

From existing free universities that gave free education for those willing to provide a service or work, we have seen huge growth in other methods of providing free education.

Even some of the largest universities such as MIT have joined together. How? Tto provide free courseware to those looking to expand their knowledge on a certain subject. In fact with the large amount of free education out there, someone could conceivably make their own free university education.

Another category of tuition free schools is the voucher schools. These are private schools that accept school choice voucher for payment. The government is in essence paying for the tuition. This category is increasing in size every year as states become more progressive in how they handle education in their respective states.

Just check out the various universities in Sweden AND Finland to find your best choice.
